Flowing ribs run across the whole surface, winding around the body, converging at the waist and fanning out again toward the mouth. In doing so the form turns in on itself — no two viewing angles are alike. NYX does not look made, but grown.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eIron contains real iron particles in the filament — the material is around one and a half times as dense as ordinary PLA and genuinely ferromagnetic: a magnet sticks to it. The metal is not a color applied to the surface but part of the material — and it behaves accordingly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe rust forms on the object.\u003c\/strong\u003e After printing, the surface is exposed and the rusting is deliberately set in motion. What happens next can be guided but not predicted exactly: the material decides where the iron converts, and how strongly. That is why every Iron is different, and why I cannot promise you that yours will look like the one in the photo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePrinted, not cast.\u003c\/strong\u003e The form is developed on the computer and built up layer by layer in 3D printing, on an FDM machine in the studio in Memmingen. The fine lines on the surface are exactly those layers. They stay visible because they show how the vessel came to be.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eEverything after that happens object by object: deburring, breaking edges, treating the surface, setting the felt base, checking, packing. Every piece has its number and its batch entered on the Object Card.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe weight comes from a steel core in the base. It sits in a sealed capsule and gives the vessel a low center of gravity — hold it to your ear and you will hear it faintly.
