Jede Oberfläche wird behandelt, bis das Metall im Werkstoff sichtbar wird. Jede nimmt die Behandlung anders an.

Das Gewicht kommt von innen

Eine geschlossene Kapsel im Boden nimmt den Stahl auf. Er gibt der Vase den tiefen Schwerpunkt und damit festen Stand.

Die Karte ist der Echtheitsausweis

Colorway, Höhe, Material und Charge werden pro Vase eingetragen — jede Karte gibt es genau einmal. NFC-Chip und QR-Code öffnen zusätzlich das Objektarchiv.

Was Sie nicht sehen

Eine NYX besteht aus mehr als dem gedruckten Korpus. Fünf Bauteile kommen zusammen, bevor sie verpackt wird.

Der Korpus wird in Memmingen mit 0,25 mm Schichthöhe gedruckt, aus mehreren Wandungen statt im Spiralverfahren. Das dauert länger, ergibt aber eine durchgehend gleichmäßige Wandstärke. Gedruckt wird mit gehärteter Düse — die Metallpartikel tragen eine normale innerhalb weniger Rollen ab.

Der Glaszylinder sitzt fest im Inneren und nimmt das Wasser auf. Der Korpus kommt damit nie in Berührung. Bei Metal ist das mehr als Komfort: Stehendes Wasser am Metall würde die Oberfläche unkontrolliert verändern.

Der Stahlkern liegt in einer geschlossenen Kapsel im Boden. Er gibt Gewicht und Standfestigkeit. Halten Sie die Vase ans Ohr, hören Sie ihn leise. Das gehört so.

Der Boden besteht aus Walkfilz aus 100 % Schurwolle, Merino.

Der NFC-Chip darunter öffnet das Objektarchiv. Es ist nirgends im Shop verlinkt und nur über den Chip oder den Code auf der Karte erreichbar.

No two viewing angles are alike

The ribs wind around the body, converge at the waist and fan out again toward the mouth. In doing so the form turns in on itself — walk around NYX and it never shows the same silhouette twice.

Three sizes

Small stands on the shelf and is read at arm's length. Medium changes its view as you walk around it and fits a surface that is already occupied. Large needs no surroundings and shapes the room around it.

Every vessel carries its code

On the Object Card there is one line that is filled in by hand: the code of your vessel.

BRI-26-01/04

BRI stands for the colorway — here Brick. Each of the nine colorways has its own three-letter abbreviation.

26 is the year it was printed.

01 is the batch. Filament arrives at the studio on spools, and one spool makes exactly one batch. How many vessels come out of it is set by the spool — usually five to ten.

04 is the sequential number within that batch. This vessel is the fourth from spool number one.

Within a batch, colour and material behaviour stay consistent. Between two batches there can be visible differences — filament is a natural product with fillers, and no spool is exactly like the next. Your code tells you which one yours came from.

Care

Clean with a soft brush. No damp cloth — moisture alters the patina. The surface is deliberately not sealed and goes on developing. Keep away from strong heat and direct sunlight.
